The outdoor spa on our balcony offered amazing views over the vineyards, making for a perfect evening retreat.
The breakfast options were limited. If you're not a fan of yoghurt or muesli, you'll need to find alternatives nearby.

Pretty little country lodge and cabin accommodations in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine country. Beautiful scenery surrounds the lodge, which has a premium Italian restaurant on site. The rooms in the lodge are very spacious, clean and comfortable with a king bed and small efficiency space and sitting area. There is free Wi Fi Included. The fridge is fully stocked for a nice continental breakfast, complete with their own homemade granola and yogurt, etc. It is ideally situated across from First Creek Winery (Hunter Valley wine maker of the year), as well as the Pokolbin Gardens. There are a myriad of restaurants...hint...make reservations, in the surrounding area and an excellent gourmet cheese shop, called Smelly Cheese that also serves "to die for" gelato. You need a car to get around the area or have to be part of a wine tour. You must visit Peppertree winery for some of the best "reds" around! We also liked Tower winery that is along the same road. The Hermitage Lodge was a nice place to stay and family owned and run, so you get the personal touch.

Location, comfort, the staff, comfortable and romantic spa. The satff were able to upgrade our room at no extra cost after some misinformation from Booked.net. They make their own muesli for the continental breakfast and their cooked breakfasts are great and good value. Sitting in the sun every morning and enjoying breakfast was definitely a highlight.
Booked.net has uploaded some incorrect photos and information for this hotel. Be aware that a 'double room with jacuzzi' actually means a double room with a small corner shower/spa. We made this mistake and complained. The staff were extremely helpful in putting us in a room with a much bigger spa. The hotel only offers jacuzzi's in their premier suites.

The setting amongst the vineyard is beautiful! The fireplace kept us cozy on cold nights, and the spacious lounge was perfect. Our King Suite was super comfortable, and having a restaurant on site was a bonus. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

The room was comfy with great views, but the dining felt overpriced for what we got.

It was nice as u get a veranda outside of your room and breakfast was provided for u in the fridge, enjoying the peace and quite in the morning while breathing the fresh air was just what we wanted. They didn't mind we move the sofa closer to our bed so our baby could use it as his bed. They also didn't charge me for the local phone calls made. The bathroom is a bit small. The Italian restaurant is very busy must book to be able to dine there. It was alright not as good as we expected. There are plenty of other better ones near by. Make sure u get the free brouchers

Perfect escape in the valley 🌄
We had an absolute jol here, the views over the vineyard were lekker and so peaceful! The brekkie left in the fridge was more than enough, loved the fresh juices and homemade muesli. The staff were friendly and super helpful.
Only downside was that it was a bit tricky to find the entrance at night, but once we got in, it was all good.

Loved the greeting from staff on arrival which was really welcoming and loved the feel of the place. The room was just what we needed for a romantic escape and the location made visiting wineries very easy. Plus the breakfast with muesli made on site was really tasty and allowed us to feel completely secluded.
We didn't have long enough with a 2 night stay and would definitely come again

Friendly, cheerful hotel with amicable people and stunning location close enough to everything to be handy. A fireplace, a lounge and coffee in the room and the exceptionally comfortable bed. Friendly check-in, parking on site. Nice pool to relax in too. Location next to the gardens and wineries, many great wineries and restaurants and the centre of so many wineries. Plus, 5 minutes drive from Tamburlaine Organic Wines. What a relaxing stay, nothing too much trouble.

It's countryside location, proximity to places to visit, large clean room with excellent facilities. Good restaurant.
It's cost. Perhaps because of the exchange rate, the hotel and restaurant are very expensive compared with European prices. But the cost is comparable with other hotels in Australia. It is a very expensive country.
